Every viewer or reader should take
note: I was the original writer of
this article below that was published in The Punch news paper’s letters about
three years ago, which The Punch used on its web site romance. With permission
from The Punch News Paper – widely read world wide – I decided to have it on my blog.
I read with amazement the story on page 16 of The PUNCH,
August 19, 2015, on how no fewer than 2,000 commercial sex workers in Awka,
the Anambra State capital, have concluded plans to commence their strike
action against the state government.
It means prostitution is legalised in that state. Their leader was even reported to pointing accusing finger at the government officials as their best customers who throw money at them; “They want me to expose them?”. Awka with only about 301, 000 population in 2006 has over 2,000 prostitutes in one group. This is more than the sin of Sodom and Gomorrah in the Bible. The Anambra State Government should allow the strike for everlasting, and that would be the best thing that can happen to the state. It is the handiwork of God. Deacon Monday Akpotuvie, The following are the readers reactions and diverse opinion. |

Honestly, one cannot really
ascertain whether prostitution is legal in Nigeria or not. One minute,
they're raided by the law, the next, they take to the streets to protest.
Better to have a country without them (MI:2), than have them pose as if
they're doing the country a great service.

I have a dream that one day this
trade will be legalized .
At the hear of prostitution everybody goes paranoid, have we thought about the positive impact they bring to the society and economy too.

They're the most intelligent set of people on earth. They're in the same position with your basic girlfriend who gives you sex for 365 days a year but they make money to have sex while your girlfriend have sex without payment. God bless every ashawo all over the world.
