Treasure, the Encarta dictionary described as:
“jewels, wealth, especially in form of jewels and precious objects, often
accumulated or hoarded; somebody highly valued: a highly valued or much loved
person: an actor is considered one of the national treasures”.
With these one
can deduce with no hesitation that man, in one way or the other is a treasure
to whosoever highly esteemed him; like the song writer acclaimed: “you are the
treasure that I have…”embracing his lover.
The
power of treasure can attracts the accumulator or the layer’s focus directly
and leaves him with no option than his heart fixed on where his treasure is.
The Lord Jesus Christ knew this aforetime and gave the injunction: “Lay not up
for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and
where thieves break through and steal: But layup treasures for yourselves in
heaven where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break
through nor steal; where your treasure is there your heart be also” (Matthew 6
v 19-21 KJV).
This
also implies that our heart is a treasure because it tinges spiritually with
our treasures’ cubicle inseparable daily.
Now,
how do we lay up treasures in heaven? First of all most, you have to accept the
Lord Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal saviour and, then He will allocate
a stall to you in His father’s house in Heaven where you would be laying your
eternal treasures. This was the saviour’s promised in John fourteen: “In my
father’s house there are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told
you, I go to prepare a place for you”. And which He will return to receive you
back to himself and live eternally with Him (John 14 v 3 KJV).
To
achieve this ultimate goal, you begin to win souls for Christ as foundations
for your eternal home. Every soul won by you there is a star accrues to it and
crow awaiting you; the heaven lies rejoice with you, and the Bible refers to
you as the one who is wise.
The
next step is to begin to feed and shepherd the souls won for Christ as
rudiments to infuse into the heavenly band. You become vessel unto honour for
God’s use; God’s own treasure, a man after God’s heart and have more things
in common with God; reasoning together as friends (Gen. 15 v 6 KJV).
Then, you are now spiritually crucified with Jesus Christ on the penal cross;
body is dead to sin but the spirit is actively alive for righteousness.
Remember, our Lord’s counsel: “It is the spirit that quickened, the flesh
profited nothing”.
