The Name Jesus

                                               

                                                                                                                The weight of the content in the name of Jesus is immeasurable by any degree of measurement and estimation. The vibration and the unhearing echo of it, if it is mentioned, are above description. Methinks it was this Apostle Paul got an inkling to in Philippians 2 v 9 - 10 when he said: “wherefore God also hath highly exalted him and given him a name which is above every name: that at the mention of the name JESUS every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth and things under the earth”.

 Let us start with Jesus as change:  2 Cor. 5 v 17 said: “therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new.” The stoning heart ­- that heart that is deceitful and desperately wicked; according to Jeremiah 17 v 9, would be   replaced with the heart of flesh – humble heart.

Jesus as New Level: In John 9, when a forty year-old blind man from his birth encountered Jesus, his level was changed. He was no longer in the level of impoverished or destitute in the street. In fact, he became popular, a cynosure of his time and the history of Jesus miraculous works could not omit him.

Jesus as Total Freedom: When you encountered Jesus you have freedom from Satan, you no longer live in bondage because when “the son of man set you free, you are free in deed”.  John 8 v 36.

Jesus as Complete restoration: In Luke 7 v 11 – 15 when the widow woman of the city of Niane’s dead son encountered Jesus he came back to life. Jesus changed death to life. Every dead parts of your body and life will come back to life in Jesus name.

Jesus as New Direction: In John 15 v 5, Jesus Said: “without me you can do nothing”. He will give you a new direction season in Jesus’ name. He will direct the affairs of your life. You will not stumble; He will guide your foot to the right direction.  

Jesus as Fullness of Joy: As you know, “the joy of the Lord is my strength”. You can win lots of protracted battles of life with joy. In fact, joy is a weapon of warfare. Again, you can only preach the gospel of Christ with a joyful heart.

Dear friends, because we have a purpose and destination, Jesus have changed us to change others and of course change our nation. That alone is our target to get to our goal. See you there.
