The half of the year 2018 is gone forever. It
has gone into the stash of history, if there is anything to count of it, it is either
lost or gain. Apostle Paul instructs us not to look behind, even at our success
or failure, but to ‘press forward towards the high calling of God’. Remember, the goal for a player is not
behind him as you can from on going FIFA 2018 world cup.
Lot’s wife was a prime victim despite the
caveat by the angels of destruction sent by God to Sodom and Gomorrah who had
mercy on Lot’s family. The aftermath of her action is now a landmark of shame,
a negative show of camera men and photographers to the glee visitors who
embellish unhelpful event. Her singular act of defiant caused more harm than
good to the family of Lot; resulting to the illicit affairs that brought about
the birth of Moab City – a city recorded the highest prostituted city in the
Bible – because the founder of Moab was a son of Lot bare to him by his first
daughter through fornication; as a result of the absent of Lot’s wife who looked
back and turned into a pillar of salt (Gen. 19 v30 – 38).
A man’s destiny is in his front. A friend
of mine told me recently that: ‘success has no legs to walk’ and I obliged
him. It is in place attached to your destiny; you have to work and walk to it
with zeal and keenness. You need physical and spiritual zeal to move forward to
your destiny; you need Spiritual zeal to pray more this season. Prayer is the
key to success. If Jesus our Lord Himself prayed, we ought to pray also.
Zealous and ceaseless prayer produces result (Dan. 10 v13 -15, 1 Thess.5 v 17). You have to bless His (God) holy name (Ps.
100 v 4 ), most of us are not acquainted with this secret of blessing God’s
name, and all we ask for is God’s blessings.
You needs
physical enthusiasm to work harder these remaining six months of the year,
‘there is no food for the lazy man’. He who does not work is not expected to
eat also. No one is jobless or created by God in vain or hopeless. ‘Whatsoever
your hand founded to do, do it with all your heart; for there is no work in the
grave where thou goeth’ ( Eccl. 9 v10,
Luke 10 v 7 ). You must put your hands to do something first before the
prosperity which God desirous of us His children in Psalm 35 verses 27 takes
place. Prosperity does not come by fluke but by a zealous pursues.
