Gift From August

Welcome to the month of August 2017, a month of harvest.  There is need for us to thank God for bringing us into the new month with His infinite mercy.

Our Treasures

Treasure, the Encarta dictionary described as: “jewels, wealth, especially in form of jewels and precious objects, often accumulated or hoarded; somebody highly valued: a highly valued or much loved person: an actor is considered one of the national treasures”.

Prostitutes On Strike

Every viewer or reader should take note:  I was the original writer of this article below that was published in The Punch news paper’s letters about three years ago, which The Punch used on its web site romance. With permission from The Punch News Paper – widely read world wide – I decided to have it on my blog.

I read with amazement the story on page 16 of The PUNCH, August 19, 2015, on how no fewer than 2,000 commercial sex workers in Awka, the Anambra State capital, have concluded plans to commence their strike action against the state government.

ReutersJuly 12, 2017

MAIDUGURI, Nigeria (Reuters) - Suicide bombers killed 17 people and injured 21 in the northeast Nigerian city of Maiduguri, the police commissioner of Borno state said on Wednesday.

It is the latest in a spate of suicide bomb attacks on the city in the last few weeks. Borno, of which Maiduguri is the capital, is the Nigerian state worst affected by the eight-year-old insurgency by Islamist militant group Boko Haram.

The Origin of Marriage part 1

In the beginning God created all things and He saw that all He created were good. And He said to someone that was with Him in the beginning: “let us make man in our own image, after our likeness”. This gives us an inkling that man was not merely created by words of His mouth alone like other things He created, including the heaven and earth; but was made with His hands.   Man was specially designed by God (Geneses 2 v 7). “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul”.

Reign on your life throne

The word of God in I Timothy 1: 18 – 20 says: “His charge I commit to you, son Timothy, according to the prophecies previously made concerning you that by them you may wage the good warfare. Having faith, and a good conscience; which some having rejected concerning the faith have suffered shipwreck, of whom are Hymeneals and Alexander whom I delivered to Satan that they may learn not to blaspheme”.

The zeal for second half

The half of the year 2017 is gone forever. It had departed into the stash of history, if there is anything to count of it, it is either lost or gain.  Apostle Paul instructs us not to look behind, even at success or failure, but to ‘press forward towards the high calling of God.

LIFE AND GREED

I quite agreed with my pen-friend, Dale Carnegie, with no tinge of doubt in my heart that: “there are only two things that man aims at in life; firstly to get all his wants and secondly to enjoy it.

BBC Africa News

The idle presidential aircraft in london consumes 4k pounds everyday for parking lot and its idleness. By 12am this morning,it would be 50days it has stayed idle and if you multiply that by N400/1pounds for 50days it will amount to N80,000,000.00 doing nothing but waiting for the President Muhammadu Buhari to get well.

The Ignorance of Self

One has arrived at the sight of the truth that although the intellectual wealth of the whole world is ours, yet we are barely wiser. We still wonder why the earth was made and what the real meaning of life is. We would still like to learn the art of self-control and the way to undisturbed happiness. We are still disturbed by some unexpected flash of interrogative thought which moves across our minds and ask why a good God permit evil and suffering. We are still battling with the secret seed of the inevitable death.
